LUMBER & PLYWOOD
We offer a wide range of lumber and plywood options to fit any project's needs. We have everything from pine to oak to cedar and more! If you're looking for plywood, we carry a variety of styles including OSB (oriented strand board), MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and HDF (high-density fiberboard).
Lumber is available in different sizes, shapes and lengths. It is often used for building structures such as homes and decks because it is sturdy enough to hold up under pressure, while still being easy to use with basic tools like a saw or drill.
Plywood is made out of multiple layers of thin sheets of wood that are glued together at right angles to form one solid piece. This makes it stronger than other types of wood and less likely to crack or split when put under pressure during construction projects like flooring or roofing.
SPRUCE LUMBER
Spruce lumber is a softwood, meaning it has a lower density than other softwoods. Spruce lumber is easy to work with, and it's very pliable and soft. It has an open grain and is often used in outdoor applications such as decks, fences, and railings.
Spruce lumber comes in many different varieties. You can choose between red spruce or white spruce; both come from the same tree species but have different colorations. Red spruce is darker than white spruce because of its higher resin content; this makes it easier to stain or paint than white spruce lumber.
PINE LUMBER
Pine lumber is a renewable resource that's perfect for building homes and other structures.
Pine lumber is a great choice for your building because it's so durable and long lasting. It's also easy to work with, which makes the construction process faster and more streamlined.
When you're looking at pine lumber, you'll notice that there are two types:
softwood and
hardwood. Softwoods are lighter in colour (usually yellowish), while hardwoods are darker in colour (usually brown). Softwoods tend to be less expensive than hardwoods, but both have their benefits!
CEDAR LUMBER
Cedar lumber is an excellent choice for your next home improvement project because it's resistant to insects and rot. It also lasts longer than other types of wood because of its natural oils, so it won't need to be replaced as often as other materials.
Cedar lumber can be used to make attractive, durable decking or fencing. It's the perfect choice where you want the wood to last a long time. In fact, cedar is one of the most durable types of lumber that you can use for outdoor projects like decks, docks or fences.
Cedar lumber doesn't need much maintenance over time and will last for many years before needing repairs. The colour of this type of lumber will stay true throughout its lifespan so you won't have to worry about fading from sun exposure or any other environmental factors affecting its appearance over time.
We offer cedar lumber in a variety of sizes and thicknesses, so you can choose the right option for your project. We have everything from 2x4s to 4x8s!
PRESSURE TREATED LUMBER
Pressure-treated lumber (PT lumber) is an increasingly popular alternative; it is produced by pressing wood into a mold under high pressure and temperature, which results in a stronger product than kiln-dried lumber that is more durable with fewer cracks and warps. The process also allows for the use of more exotic woods that can be difficult to dry in conventional kilns, as well as reducing waste from offcuts by reusing them in the production process.
Using pressure-treated lumber for framing can also significantly improve your building's energy efficiency, by reducing your home's energy consumption and keeping it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
